Working closely with the Communications Manager, the Communications Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the planning, execution, measurement and analysis of a variety of communications and public relations activities and projects. The Communications Coordinator will be involved in projects aimed at promoting our solutions and services globally and will liaise with internal and external customers to achieve departmental objectives. As such, this role requires someone who demonstrates excellent customer service, interpersonal communication and written communication skills.

The incumbent must thrive in a fast-paced environment and must be able to work with a high level of autonomy. They must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, as well as quickly comprehend and act on changing priorities when necessary.

The Communications Coordinator will report to the Communications Manager.

Role & Responsibilities
• Handle several projects of varying levels of complexity, involving team members or colleagues from other departments. Projects may involve writing, research, analysis, or coordination.
• Own the relationship with the translation agencies and manage processes including: research of new suppliers, internal validation management, and administrative tasks as they relate to document versioning management and invoicing.
• Contribute to media research and assist with editorial placement.
• Assist with writing and proofreading of short documents including: product showcases, tech partner notes and short articles.
• Coordinate and implement effective public relations efforts including: Industry Associations listings and memberships, speaker engagement calendar, and industry awards programs.
• Coordinate the planning, writing, editing and production of bi-monthly internal e-newsletter.
• Assist in the development of Genetec user conferences globally.
• Assist with the maintenance and updating of Genetec communications procedures.
• Other duties and responsibilities as required.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, both in English and French.

Technical requirements
• BA in marketing, communications, journalism or equivalent experience.
• 1+ year communications and/or marketing experience, preferably in the hi-tech industry or technical environment.
• Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite.
