Payroll and Human Resources Technician (ID#314)

Salary: Based on experience and background $40,000 to $50,000 per year
Benefits: 50% of premiums paid by employer following first 3 months of employment

Position Type: Permanent, full-time position
Hours: Monday through Friday from 9.00am to 5.30pm

Position overview: Reporting to the controller, the candidate will assist in all payroll and HR-related tasks

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Payroll duties

Ensure that employees are paid accurately and in a timely manner;
Make certain that all payroll transactions are accurately reported, recorded;
Maintain records of employee attendance, leave and overtime;
Input and transmit data for ADP every other week;
Verify ADP information and match with company records;
Responsible for complying with numerous employment laws and labor regulations;
Prepare and balance period-end reports, and reconcile issued payrolls to bank statements;
Handle group insurance;
Complete time sheets showing employees' arrival and departure times
Maintain confidentiality of information obtained through payroll;

HR Duties

Implement and communicate company policies and procedures to ensure understanding and compliance;
Ensure Labour Standards regulations are adhered to;
Maintain and update employee management files (follow-up on disciplinary and administrative files);
Recording employee information in data bases and system;
Maintain occupational health and safety requirements (manage AST Mutual for CSST);
Ensure effective employee relations and be the single "go-to" person for all HR-related issues;;
Coordinate the annual company Performance Evaluation and feedback procedures.


2 to 3 years of payroll experience and 1 year of HR experience;
Post-secondary degree or college diploma;
Excellent knowledge of payroll processes, payroll accounting, payroll tax withholdings and labor standards are required;
Knowledge of payroll software required (ADP) ;
Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, and Outlook), excellent knowledge of Excel,
Bilingual, French and English, spoken and written;
Good problem solving and organizational skills;
Ability to work under pressure of absolute deadlines;
